Yes, as some of you already know, it’s my birthday today. I didn’t have anything planned for today. I went to the Gurdwara this morning, and had a horrible experience with the public transport system. But thats a story for another day.
This evening, I had planned to go to the Indian restaurant near the Windsor station for dinner, since I didn’t have anything else planned. So I told Elena that I was going out for dinner, and then she told me that they had planned to go out for dinner with me, which I didn’t know. So I decided, ok, I’d go with them, coz eating with friends is infinitely better than eating by myself.
At around 6.30pm, Daniel suddenly goes out to withdraw cash… supposedly. And minutes later, Elena and Richard went out to return a book to the City Library. I started to get suspicious… but didn’t want to say anything in case I was wrong. However, since we had agreed to go out for dinner at 7pm, I decided to have a shower and wait.
After my shower, I was sitting in the hall, when I heard the unmistakable voice of Linda and Zhao Kang as they were making their way down the path to the apartment. I knew for sure then that they were having a party for me.  A number of people were there, from Zhao Kang’s housemates, to Linda and Adrian, to TJ and his housemates, and Ying Wei, and Sarah, and of course, my own housemates were there. It was honestly unexpected since they did the same thing last year, and I didn’t think they’d do the same thing this year. It was awesome though. :D They bought pizza from Eagle Boys Pizza, including my fave, Aussie Bacon & Egg, plus a chocolate cake (which is one of my favourites). So we all did what we enjoy doing and do best: sat and ate and talked our hearts out.
All  in all, it was a excellent evening, and I really appreciate the presence of everyone who came. Friends like these are hard to come by, and I really appreciate it. :)
